Less Than Two Weeks Before
The First Annual Florida Spring Keiko!
In an effort to build bridges and facilitate community, Sunday Morning Keiko is hosting a joint Aikido/Karate seminar on May 11th-13th. Melissa Bell Sensei and Rick Hotton Sensei will be hosting the trainings at the 12th Street Dojo and South Lido Beach Park. Other activities include group dinners Friday and Saturday night, as well as a barbecue Sunday morning at the training's conclusion.
The focus of this first annual seminar will be finding the common principles of both Aikido and Karate as well as an effort to build bridges between the two martial arts communities. Attendees will not need to have had experience in both martial arts— the intention will be to build complimentary skills that will augment your own martial art practice.

A community - celebrating the budo journey
SMK is a non-exclusive karate/budo community advancing a spiritual as well as physical approach to the study of karate/budo. Unlike a traditional organization we do not issue rank or accreditation but rather offer resources via various forms of media (in the members section of this site) along with seasonal training retreats designed to provide the individual with materials to construct and augment their individual karate/budo practice. It is our desire to create an environment that gives room to the independent journey, and a community that collectively and respectfully celebrates the process of becoming a martial artist.
welcome to the journey.
